Very sweet copy of this classic session. Recorded a week after Spiritual Unity, this capture Ayler's trio, with Don Cherry (who would soon accompany them to Europe) and the front-line of the NY Art Quartet. The recording was done as a soundtrack for a film by Michael Snow (the legendary Canadian filmmaker/musician) and the three pieces are stellar examples of group-improv, and not nearly as dense and forbidding as some have made them out to be. Just really fucking beautiful. Personnel: Albert Ayler, Don Cherry, John Tchicai, Gary Peacock, Sonny Murray Catalogue Number: Grading Notes: 5th Avenue address, back cover show catalogue through 1025 (Patty Waters)
